outdoor living space essentials

Winter may be underway, but Spring will be upon us before we can imagine. With the spring weather, comes more time spent outdoors. In order to be fully ready when the temperatures rise, you’ll want to make sure to check off this list of all the essentials to maximize your time outdoors!

shade - when the sun is shining bright, you’ll need to find a way to escape from it. One of our favorites for this is shade maker umbrellas. Made from high performance fabrics, these umbrellas not only provide reprieve from the sun, but can withstand the outdoor elements.

plants - you’re outside, so it’s only natural! (no pun intended) Plus, plants provide texture and color that softens any space. Succulents top our list for our go-to plant selection. They are simple to care for, work in just about any space, and are easy to decorate table tops/bar tops/mantles/etc. We also love to plant a small tree in an oversize planter for an immediate space changer. This provides height, shade, and can help soften brick walls.

pillows - add a pop of color and comfort to your space. Pillows are hands down the easiest way to add personality to your space. You can play with color, add patterns, or swap out seasonally. We recommend sunbrella or outdoor fabrics if your pillows are in the elements. If you have a space that’s well covered, we aren’t so strict with the outdoor fabric rule. (hello, scotchguard!) We have tons in our showroom and if you’re looking for something specific, we’d love to help you find it.

seating - a place to relax, whether it be a couch, lounge chairs or hammock. This is one of the most important aspects to an outdoor space. Whether relaxing by yourself or entertaining with friends, you want a comfortable seat!

place to eat - table and chairs. It’s no surprise that we love dining al fresco - there’s something very special about being outside to enjoy a meal. If you don’t have room for a full dining table, then opt for a smaller cafe table and chairs. An oversized coffee table or a cluster of a few smaller stools can work to accommodate a few plates, your cheese board, and drinks.

We hope that this helps you prepare your space for more time outdoors this year!
